Collection: Van Insulation

Insulation and sound deadening for vans and campervans, sold by the roll and pack so you only buy what your build needs. Combine sound deadening mats, closed cell foam and thermal fleece to put together your own van insulation kit that keeps the cold out and the road noise down.

How to insulate a van in three layers

  1. Sound deadening: 2mm butyl sound deadening mats, or Dodo Mat DEADN Hex if you prefer Dodo, go straight onto the large metal panels to stop vibration and drumming.
  2. Insulation: our self-adhesive van insulation roll of 7.5mm foil-backed closed cell foam covers walls, roof and floor.
  3. Cavity fill: thermal fleece insulation packs into door panels, ribs and awkward gaps the foam can't reach.

Then finish the walls and ceiling with 4 way stretch carpet lining, bonded with STIK-IT spray adhesive.

What's the best insulation for a van conversion?

No single material does everything. The most effective campervan insulation combines a damping layer to stop vibration, closed cell foam on the large panels and roof, and fleece in the cavities. Foam is the slimmer option where headroom is tight; fleece is easiest around curves and in hollow sections.
